Keys to Joy Week Two

Day 1 – The Source of Joy

Scripture: “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.”  John 15:11 (NKJV)

Reflection: True joy doesn’t come from circumstances—it comes from Jesus Himself. His joy is lasting, unshakeable, and available to you today. When we stay connected to Him, even through life’s ups and downs, His joy flows in us and through us. Sometimes happiness fades, but the joy of the Lord remains when we choose to stay close to His heart.

Prayer: Lord, help me to find my joy in You, not in what’s happening around me. Let Your presence fill me today and remind me that Your joy is my strength. Amen.

Day 2 – The Secret to Lasting Joy

Scripture: “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”  Psalm 16:11 (NKJV)

Reflection: Joy isn’t something we stumble upon—it’s something we discover in God’s presence. The closer we walk with Him, the clearer the path becomes. When life feels confusing or empty, that’s our invitation to lean into His presence. There, we find fullness, not fragments; peace, not pressure.

Prayer: Father, draw me near to Your presence today. Show me Your path of life, and fill me with the joy that only comes from spending time with You. Amen.

Day 3 – Joy by Loving Others

Scripture: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  Matthew 22:39 (NKJV)

Reflection: Real joy begins when we take our eyes off ourselves and start loving like Jesus. The acrostic says it best—JOY: Jesus, Others, Yourself. When our priorities line up that way, something beautiful happens. Life feels lighter. Relationships heal. And joy begins to overflow. We aren’t meant to do life alone—we’re meant to serve, forgive, encourage, and love one another deeply.

Prayer: Jesus, teach me to love others the way You love me. Help me to serve, forgive, and lift people up today. Use me to bring joy to someone’s life. Amen.

Day 4 – Joy in Humility

Scripture: “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.”  Philippians 2:3 (NKJV)

Reflection: It’s easy to think that joy comes from getting what we want—but God says the opposite. The path to joy is paved with humility. When we put others first, joy grows in our hearts. Jesus showed us this when He wrapped a towel around His waist and washed His disciples’ feet. Joy isn’t about being served; it’s about serving with love.

Prayer: Lord, help me to see others the way You see them. Teach me to put others first and to serve with a humble heart. Let my actions bring glory to You. Amen.

Day 5 – Walking Out the Joy of the Lord

Scripture: “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”  Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV)

Reflection: Joy gives us strength for the journey. It refreshes us when we’re weary and reminds us that God is still at work, even in the hard places. When we love others, forgive, and serve together, the Spirit of God moves—and joy spreads! Like that church in Arkansas that saw revival through confession and unity, we too can see God move when we walk in love and honesty.

Prayer: Father, let Your joy strengthen me today. Help me to live in unity, honesty, and love. May my life reflect the joy of knowing You. Amen.
